Haleigh Discussed in Jailhouse Phone Conversations

Updated: 2/8/2010 6:17:52 PM

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- From inside the St. Johns County Jail, Tommy Croslin - Misty Croslin's brother - talked about the missing person case of Haleigh Cummings.

Seven phone calls between Tommy Croslin and his brother Timmy have been released.

In them, Tommy tells his brother, "I want to get out of here so bad. I'd do anything to get out of here. I wouldn't sell my soul, but I'd do anything else."

Tommy Croslin was arrested with his sister and former brother-in-law, Ronald Cummings, on drug trafficking charges in January.

In one phone call, Tommy Croslin explained he suspected the buyer was an undercover agent.

"Misty brought this dude over to the house, alright, and wanted me to get us some roxies. So I [expletive] went and got him some roxies. I called someone I knew and went and got him some pills," Croslin said.

In the past year, investigators have questioned Tommy Croslin about Haleigh Cummings who disappeared from her Satsuma home nearly a year ago.

It appears that questioning continues.

Tommy Croslin told his brother over the phone, "The police said, 'You're facing three years in prison unless you help us find Haleigh.' I said, 'I can't help you find nobody. I don't know where she is.'"

Tommy Croslin also faces burglary charges.

Timmy Croslin: You think this, any of this [expletive] would've happened to you if this [expletive] wasn't going on in our life about Haleigh?

Tommy Croslin: No. Hell no. How long did I do stuff before and nothing happened?

Timmy Croslin: I know. That's what I'm saying. I think they're just out to get us.

For now Tommy Croslin remains in jail in protective custody.

Last week, bounty hunter Leonard Padilla offered to pay Misty's bail if she would reveal any information about Haleigh's disappearance. Today, the family gathered for the one-year anniversary of the girl's disappearance. The family said the hurt is still the same and their feelings haven't changed.

Ronald's main concern is his aching tooth.......back and neck...which he will

toughen out.

Logan McQueary’s search for baby Gabriel Johnson UPDATE

2010 February 9

Logan McQueary

Logan McQueary and his cousins, Lisa and Joe Peters, are continuing their road search for clues in the disappearance of Logan’s 9 month old son, Gabriel. He says he’s finding strong clues that his son Gabriel may have been adopted in San Antonio.

“We came on this trip looking for any evidence and we’re finding a lot of it,” said Logan McQueary.
“I think on the 26th, she knew it was the last time she was going to see Gabriel, she took some pictures, she drove to Six Flags, somebody picked him up and she took off for Miami. And we just have to figure out who she met and where they are now,” said Lisa Peters.

THE CONNECTIONS SO FAR:

1. Logan has discovered, after talking to an adoption expert who helps the FBI maneuver the shady world of underground adoptions, that San Antonio is a hub.

2. The Homegate Hotel: A known hook up place for adoptive parents and girls looking to give up their babies. Underground agencies put the girls up there for meetings with families and to complete paperwork.

3. Six Flags Over Texas: Elizabeth and Gabriel were seen on surveillance video outside Six Flags. “Often girls go to Six Flags to meet with the adoptive family. There’s a lot of people in and out there, and there’s also security there, and it’s a safe place for both the mother and the family to meet, often to bring the child, introduce the child to the family,” said Lisa Peters.

4. The surveillance video of Johnson and Gabriel was taken on December 26th. This was also the day she took the last known photos of Gabriel in her Homegate hotel room. The 26th was also just two days after she posted two comments on her MySpace page. Those comments were “Where there’s a will, there’s a way,” and “Excited to start my new life.”

5. Pizza guy says she he doesn’t think she was alone at Homegate hotel room. The 1st time she ordered one pizza. The second time she ordered two pizzas- one large, one medium, with different toppings.

6. Recent changes in Texas law has made it one of the easiest states to remove parental rights from a biological father.

These are really positive signs that Gabriel might still be alive, but, of course, no one knows for sure what Elizabeth did in the end because she’s not talking. That may change now that LE is treating this case as a homicide. Surely her lawyers have advised her to come clean. The problem is that any information Elizabeth might have about the adoptive parents is probably minimal, and it’s highly doubtful she knows much, if anything, about the baby brokers. Not to mention that so much time has passed that all of these people could easily be anywhere in the world right now.
Making themselves invisible was surely the intention of the baby broker, and it looks like it was the intention of the adoptive parents. Why else would these people not come forward? Is it because Gabriel was whisked out of the country and the family isn’t aware of his father’s desperate search for him.? Did they pay a lot of money to “purchase” this child and are worried about recouping their investment? Are they afraid of the ramifications to them if they bring him back? Have they simply fallen so deeply in love with this beautiful little boy that none of the above matters?
Or, could there be something more sinister involved? Are there threats to them from the baby brokers? The world of underground adoption is vast and shrouded in secrecy. There are large sums of money involved. The people who have information about this sordid practice are tight-lipped, and apparently a lot of them think they are doing “good” work by helping “save” these helpless children from what they perceive to be terrible environments. (Does that describe Tammi Smith?)

Tammi Smith mug shot

Unfortunately, all too often, these human “links” between the mothers and the brokers base their assumptions on biased or false information from the parent seeking to have their child adopted. They either don’t have the resources to check the mothers out, are duped, or they just plain don’t care to know the truth.
I’m sorry, butit’s a mystery to me why anyone could think they are doing something altruistic by helping someone unable to adopt through regular channels obtain a child. The thought-process of a parent that would not want their child placed through a legitimate adoption agency is also difficult for me to follow.* I can’t think of many reasons that would justify such a practice, can you? But, I can think of a lot of good reasons why legitimate adoption agencies, after spending considerable time and resources to make sure a child is put in a safe and loving home, would reject someone–and none of them are pretty.

*I’m not talking about those FEW parents that legitimately fear for their children’s lives and hide them in underground safe houses. (note the emphasis on “FEW”)
Please keep praying for Gabriel Johnson and Logan McQueary. If you have seen this child please contact: FBI at 1-210-225-6741 or 1-800-THE LOST.
If you have this child please do the right thing and see that he gets back to his father safely.

Boy, 3, Still Critical After Shooting Self

POSTED: 3:59 pm MST February 8, 2010

PHOENIX -- A 3-year-old boy who shot himself in the head remained in extremely critical but stable condition on Monday.

The boy found a pistol under a couch at his grandmother's San Tan Valley home on Saturday, said Pinal County sheriff's spokeswoman Lt. Tamatha Villar. The bullet went through his brain on one side, and there is hope he might survive.

The grandmother lives alone in a rural area and had retrieved the gun Friday night after her dogs began barking and she became scared. She put it under the couch and went to sleep, and forgot it was there when her grandson arrived the next morning.

Villar said the Pinal County Attorney will review the case but no charges are pending.

The unidentified boy is unconscious after extensive surgery at a Phoenix hospital but responding to stimuli.

Deb, the Saint's quarterback is on Letterman. What a great story he is. Congratulations!!!!

2 of my brothers owe me money.

Hey there, friend !!!!!! I did not see Drew on Letterman obviously since I was in bed but did see snipets of it on the news this morning. He is a great story as are so many of the Saint players and most of all, the city which they represent with all it has been through. Today, in about a hour, they will be having a parade in New Orleans in honor of the Saints. The neatest thing about this parade is that it was planned before the Super Bowl and was going to take place regardless of the outcome of the game. This is a state that LOVES our Saints!!!!!!!

I am gathering you had a bet with your brothers on the game???????? YOU GO, GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

New Motion Filed In Case Against Casey

Baez Hopes To Gain Access To Search Group's Records

    POSTED: 4:47 pm EST February 9, 2010
    UPDATED: 5:07 pm EST February 9, 2010

    ORLANDO, Fla. --

Casey Anthony's defense has filed a new motion Tuesday they hope will help gain them access to all of Texas Equusearch's records.

In that motion Anthony's attorney, Jose Baez, said the group that aided in the search for Caylee Anthony, Casey's daughter, recently made search records available to the media.

In court, Equusearch argued that revealing such information could have a "chilling effect" on future volunteers.

Anthony's defense argues that in light of recent disclosures to the media, "there is no reason to prevent disclosure to Miss Anthony as well."

Read Motion | Photos Of Caylee | Special Section

Casey Anthony, 23, remains in the Orange County Jail on no bond charged with first-degree murder in her daughter's death. Caylee's remains were found in a wooded area near the Anthony family home in December 2008 by a meter reader.

Anthony maintains that a nanny by the name of Zenaida Gonzalez kidnapped Caylee.

Her team argues group's attorney allowed media to view some records they sought, which made group's "chilling effect" point against releasing information moot.

    By Sarah Lundy, Orlando Sentinel

    5:39 p.m. EST, February 9, 2010

Casey Anthony's defense team still wants records from Texas EquuSearch, the Texas-based volunteer search organization that helped look for Anthony's daughter.

According to court documents filed today, the defense says the organization's argument that releasing all its information, including the volunteers' cell phones and other identifying details, to the defense could have a "chilling" effect on volunteers in future searches.

The defense argued that last year Texas EquuSearch's attorney, Mark NeJame, invited a local television station to view some of the records — which makes the chilling effect argument moot.

Anthony, 23, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of her daughter, Caylee Marie. The 2-year-old was reported missing in July 2008. Texas EquuSearch sent volunteers throughout Orange County to look for her but had no success.

Her remains were discovered Dec. 11, 2008 by an Orange County meter reader. Authorities could not determine the toddler's cause of death but ruled the case a homicide.
