Terri Moulton Horman, shown here at a news conference in June, has decided not to contest a court filing that will force her to leave the family's home on Northwest Sheltered Nook Road.
The father of missing 7-year-old Kyron Horman argues in court papers that his wife struck up an intimate and sexual relationship with one of his high school friends and shared confidential information from a sealed restraining order that allowed him to map the address where Kaine Horman has lived with their daughter since he moved out of his home.

Court filings Monday also revealed that Terri Moulton Horman, Kyron's stepmom, was "sexting" her husband's high school friend, Michael Cook, on June 30, four days after Kaine Horman left the house with their young daughter and two days after he filed for divorce and a restraining order against his wife.

The latest twists in the more-than-monthlong investigation into Kyron's disappearance raised further questions about the actions of Kyron's stepmom in the days after the boy disappeared, but they shed little light on what's happened to the missing second-grader since he was last seen June 4 at Skyline School.

Terri Horman's attorney also alerted the court Monday that she would not contest her husband's restraining order or his push to force her out of their Portland home on Northwest Sheltered Nook Road. The restraining order restricts Terri Horman from any parenting time with their 20-month-old daughter Kiara. Yet, she would have the right to ask the court to reconsider at a later date.

In his brief letter to the court Monday, her attorney, criminal defense lawyer Stephen Houze, wrote that his client intends to seek a family law attorney regarding the pending divorce.

Meanwhile, Kaine Horman's lawyer, Laura Rackner, asked the court Monday to impose "remedial" sanctions against Terri Horman for disclosing Kaine's current address -- information that remains sealed in the restraining order -- to one or more unauthorized parties. She's seeking sanctions, ranging from a $500 fine to confinement for being in contempt of court.

Rackner and Houze expect to appear before Judge Keith Meisenheimer at 1:30 p.m. today to set a date for a hearing on the contempt allegations.

Houze said Monday night he would not be making any comments on the latest allegations against Terri Horman, but added, "We will be vigorously defending her, I assure you."

In the court filings, Kaine and his attorney further allege that Terri Horman went to her husband's gym and tried to "abduct" Kiara from the gym's day care while he was working out on June 28, two days after he had moved out with the child and hours before Terri was served with a restraining order.

Law enforcement informed Kaine Horman that Terri Horman not only shared concerns about her marriage with Cook and made sexual overtures to him, but made similar overtures to the landscaper who she had attempted to hire to murder Kaine months before Kyron's disappearance, the filing says.

In an interview with law enforcement, Cook told authorities that Terri Horman let him photograph the sealed restraining order, photograph Kaine Horman's new undisclosed address, and he shared the information with at least two people.

Law enforcement found hundreds of text messages between Terri Horman and Cook, as well as photographs of Terri "in various stages of undress and graphic sexual activity" on Cook's cell phone, the filing says.

"While respondent at times, references the fact that she misses both children Kiara and Kyron, the significant majority of the material deals with social and personal matters between Mr. Cook and respondent and belies that assertion," Rackner wrote.

She added that Terri Horman asked Cook to lie to her own attorney and others about the fact that she had gone to Cook's home.

If the murder-for-hire plot and recent "sexting" allegations are true, associate clinical psychiatry and behavioral sciences professor Dr. Alan Lipman, of George Washington University Medical Center, called Terri Horman's actions "shocking recklessness."

"There's a pattern of impulsivity , reckless behavior and apparent disregard for the well-being of her stepson at a time of the greatest crisis for her stepson," said Lipman, who also founded the Center for the Study of Violence in Washington, D.C.

Kaine Horman left the house with their daughter on June 26 after investigators told him that Terri Horman had solicited her landscaper to kill him in an alleged murder-for-hire plot six to seven months before Kyron's disappearance. In court papers seeking a restraining order against his wife, Kaine Horman said he believes his wife is involved in the disappearance of his son.

Terri Horman, 40, has not been charged with any crime. The investigation into the boy's disappearance is ongoing.

Kaine Horman and Michael Cook, 37, both attended Shoreline High School north of Seattle where they both played football. Cook was one of a few of Kaine's friends from high school who ended up moving to Portland. Kaine had tried to reconnect with him once Cook moved to Portland, but they never did until Cook showed up at their home after Kyron's disappearance.

Along with two others, Cook, who is divorced with a son, helped organize the first vigil for Kyron. He was later seen at Kaine and Terri's home after Kaine moved out, picking up the mail and bringing in food and drink to Terri, her friends and relatives. He told The Oregonian he was just trying to be supportive in a time of need.

When asked why he was spending so much time at the home shortly after Kaine had moved out, Cook said of Terri, "I'm better friends with her now. I just care about them and want their son to be found."

BREAKING NEWS

Portland, OR– late today, through his attorney, Kaine Horman filed contempt of court charges against Terri Horman for showing a previously sealed restraining order to childhood friend of Kaine’s, Michael Cook.

In his motion, he also accused Terri of “sexting” messages to Cook from her cell phone. Cook and Horman exchanged racy and graphic sexual messages back and forth since June 30th.
Michael Cook is best known for organizing the first vigil for Kyron Horman on June 7th and speaking briefly to reporters as he ran errands and stocked food and beverages for those in the home when Kyron first went missing.

Kyron Horman case: Court records filed show sex played role in murder-for-hire relationship

Posted on July 12th, 2010 by Valhall
Kaine Horman has filed new family court documents requesting Terri Horman be held in contempt for not only showing the contents of the sealed restraining order to unauthorized persons, but allowing them to take photographs of that restraining order. That unauthorized person was Michael Cook who has been in the forefront ever since the Kyron Horman case went public. Michael Cook, high school friend of Kaine Horman, was the man who organized the first vigil for Kyron on June 7th. He also quickly became spokesman for Terri Horman on the evening she was served the divorce petition and restraining order.
According to the papers filed by Kaine today, law enforcement has been reviewing Terri’s cell phone records and computer records as well as Michael Cooks’ cell phone records. On the evening of June 28th, the day Terri was served, Michael was in the front yard of the Horman home, even though his “life-long friend” no longer lived there, asking the public not to jump to conclusions about Terri’s involvement in Kyron’s disappearance. It appears he did more than that. On that same date Terri showed him the restraining order and allowed him to photograph certain pages of it, including the portion that contains Kaine and Kiara’s current, undisclosed residence. Of significant concern is the finding by law enforcement that Michael Cook used Google maps on his phone to pinpoint the exact location of Kaine’s current residence.
In support of the move for contempt against Terri the legal documents filed state that on June 30th Terri and Michael Cook began a sexual relationship. This relationship included taking pictures of themselves in varying degrees of undress and while performing “graphic sexual activity”. In addition, it appears Terri and Michael have been indulging in a bit of sexting. In between the sexting sessions, Terri worked in that she missed both kids. A particular revealing statement is made about the messages sent from Terri to Michael:

Law enforcement has informed Petitioner’s attorney that Respondent’s stated personal relationship concerns and sexual overtures to Mr. Cook resemble those made to the man Respondent previously attempted to hire to murder Petitioner.
It should be pointed out that this indicates that written communications, either in the form of text messages or emails, between Terri and the “landscaper” she tried to hire to kill Kaine are in law enforcement’s possession.
Another revelation in the documents comes with the next statement:

Further, law enforcement has informed Petitioner’s attorney that an identified clerk at a known local gym reported that on or about June 28, 2010, and prior to the service of the legal documents, Respondent came to that location looking to “abduct” her daughter, Kiara, from the gym daycare center while Petitioner worked out at the gym. Respondent asked the clerk to contact her if Petitioner came to the gym with Kiara.

PORTLAND, Ore. (CBS/KOIN/AP) As police continue to search for Kyron Horman, the father of the missing 7-year-old has filed court papers containing new accusations against Kyron's stepmother, the last person known to have seen him alive before he vanished early last month after attending a science fair at his Portland-area school.

PICTURES: Kyron Hormon Missing: New Photos

Kaine Horman claims that Terri Horman began a sexual relationship with a childhood friend of his during the investigation of Kyron's disappearance, and attempted to kidnap their 20-month-old daughter, Kiara, according to CBS News' "The Early Show."

"Even if authorities suspect but can't prove Terri Horman was involved in Kyron's disappearance," Multnomah County Sheriff's Office Capt. Bruce McCain told the morning show, "the next-best-thing is to arrest and charge her with a separate, unrelated crime."

The latest complaint dates back to June 26, three weeks after Kyron vanished.

That day, Kaine Horman left his home when investigators informed him that Terri Horman had allegedly tried to hire a landscaper to kill him.

Two days later, Kaine Horman asserts, as he was about to file a restraining order, Terri tried to kidnap Kiara.

Then, Kaine Horman claims, on June 30, Terri Horman began an intimate relationship with Michael Cook and shared sealed legal information on the Kyron probe with Cook.

Last Thursday, Kaine Horman and Kyron's mother, Desiree Young, went public with their suspicion that Terri Horman was involved in Kyron's disappearance, and revealed that Terri had failed two polygraph tests.

Police haven't officially named Terri Horman a suspect or person of interest.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Kyron Horman is asked to call the Multnomah County Sheriff's tip line at 503-261-2847.

Multnomah County Circuit Court Judge Keith Meisenheimer set two future court hearing dates for Kaine Horman's motion to hold his wife in contempt of court.

A pre-hearing date is set for July 22 at 1:30 p.m., followed by a Sept. 21 hearing.

Terri Moulton Horman is expected to attend the July hearing, said her attorney, Stephen Houze, as he emerged from the judge's chambers this afternoon.
He declined further comment.

Houze and Kaine Horman's lawyer, Laura Rackner, met briefly with the judge this afternoon to set the hearing dates.

Kaine Horman's lawyer has asked the court to impose "remedial" sanctions against Terri Horman.

Rackner argued in a motion filed Monday that Terri Horman shared the contents of a sealed restraining order - most notably her husband's new address - with a man whom Terri Horman had developed an intimate and sexual relationship with since her stepson Kyron's disappearance on June 4. The man, Michael Cook, was a high school friend of Kaine Horman.

Terri Horman has alerted the court she would not contest the restraining order, which prevents her from having any parenting time with her daughter Kiara, 20 months old.

Stephen Houze: "The law and the rules of ethics are very clear lawyers may not comment on matters that are pending before the court. And I intend to honor that."
Reporter: "Can you tell us how Terry is doing?"
Stephen Houze: "I'm not going to make any comment. I appreicate your interest. I know you have a job to do. As do I."
An attorney representing Kaine Horman said Terri Horman has agreed to move out of the house she shared with her husband. Kaine Horman is currently living at an undisclosed location.

PORTLAND -- The step-mother of missing seven-year-old Kyron Horman talked about 'abducting' her daughter from a local health club while her estranged husband was working out, according to a gym employee quoted in court papers.
A clerk at a gym frequented by Terri and Kaine Horman told police that Terri came there on or about June 28 and was "looking to 'abduct' her daughter, Kiara from the gym daycare center," according to the court affidavit.
Kaine and the couple's 19-month-old daughter, Kiara, were not at the gym at the time, so Terri asked the clerk to contact her if Kaine arrived there with Kiara in the future, according to the affidavit, while was filed as part of a contempt of court proceeding Monday.
The clerk told the gym manager what happened and the manager then contacted police.

Gym owner warns police of visit
On Tuesday, gym owner Bob Briede told KGW he was glad he called police.
"Her behavior was definitely suspicious and I felt that it justified making a phone call to the authorities," said Briede, who owns Xtreme Edge Gym in Beaverton.
"Obviously with one child going missing and a parent acting strange...we felt that somebody needed to know about that in case there was something there, you know," said Briede. "I sure wouldn't want two children to go missing."
"I definitely feel relieved," said Briede. "I couldn't have gone home that night and gone toThe way everything rolled out, it obviously was the good thing to do."
Visit preceded restraining order
Shortly after the incident Kaine Horman obtained a restraining order to block Terri from any contact with Kiara or himself.
Kaine also left the home that the couple shared in Northwest Portland and lived in a temporary residence with Kiara until Terri agreed to move out on Monday, under pressure of the court.
The contempt of court documents were filed Monday after Kaine accused Terri of violating the restraining order against her. In addition to the gym accusations, the affidavit alleged that Terri illegally shared the sealed document with Michael Cook. The filing stated that Cook took a cell phone photo of Kaine's new address and mapped it online. The filing also said police found hundreds of text messages between Cook and Horman, and sexually explicit texts and photos of Terri on Cook's phone.
More: Terri accused of violating restraining order
Kyron has been missing since Terri brought him to school on June 4. Police have not named her as a suspect or a person of interest in the case, although much of the investigation has focused on her.Gy

A New Search For Kyron………

Please God Cause Kyron To Be Found

It appears there is a new search going on for Kyron Horman around Skyline Elementary School. Apparently this search has been going on for about the last 10 days and people’s properties that were previously searched are being re-searched and they are questioning everyone with a pick up truck. In addition:

“A big SUV showed up with a couple of people in it; they wanted to know if I was this certain family,” he said. “They had a tip why they wanted to talk to this family. That’s all they told me.”
http://www.kptv.com/news/24248542/detail.html
I find this encouraging and I truly hope they are on the verge of finding Kyron. It certainly appears that they are following up on the tips. I pray this will be the search that reveals where Kyron is and exactly who is responsible, no matter who it is. I personally think there is more than one person in this case.

New allegations emerged against seven-year-old Kyron Horman's stepmother.

The Associated Press
Capt. Jason Gates of the Multnomah County Sheriff’s office talks to reporters Monday as he stands next to a photo of missing 7-year-old Kyron Horman at a church across from Skyline Elementary School in Portland, Ore.

New allegations emerged against seven-year-old Kyron Horman's stepmother.

Police say Terri Horman tried to snatch her 20-month-old daughter, Karia, while her husband worked out at a local gym.

Kaine Horman moved out of the family house after investigators told him of allegations that his wife had tried to hire a landscaper to kill him.

Court papers now claim 40-year-old Terri Horman began seeing 37-year-old Michael Cook and help organize the first candle light vigil for missing Kyron.

Cook has tells local media he admits to inappropriate communication with Horman, but denies any sexual relations.

According to court documents, Horman began seeing Cook just four days after her husband left the house.

"Without a doubt," Desiree Young said, Terri Horman plotted the boy's disappearance.

"I think it was very planned," she said, sitting next to her husband, Medford police detective Tony Young.

Tony Young agreed.

"I absolutely believe that Terri Horman is responsible for Kyron's disappearance," he said.

Desiree Young said she overlooked warning signs from her son before he vanished.

She described "red flags," such as Kyron's increasing unhappiness with returning to his father and stepmother's Portland home after visiting his mother.

"He wanted to come live with us," she said. "Several times he would just break down and sob because he wanted to stay."

She said she's guilt-stricken that she wasn't there to protect him and that she missed the science fair – the last time anyone saw the Skyline second-grader.

Desiree Young also responded to new allegations that Terri Horman sent explicit texts to a high school friend of Kyron's father, Kaine. "It's disgusting," she said.

Desiree Young issued a plea for her son's safe return: "To the person or persons that have Kyron, I miss my son so much that I can't breathe at times. Please let him go. Just take him to a remote pay phone or somewhere out of the way and tell him to call 9-1-1."

PostSubject: Why Does Michael Cook Not See Terri Horman as Wicked Witch of the West?   Wed Jul 14, 2010 2:22 pm

Why Does Michael Cook Not See Terri Horman as Wicked Witch of the West?

By John Kays

Suddenly a long lost friend, Michael Cook, gets on the merry-go-round of tabloid absurdity. How does Michael Cook fit into this Horman familial dysfunction that just won't go away? Even though he was a high school classmate of Kaine Horman, he magically appears out of the woodwork in late June, helps organize a vigil for missing Kyron, then colludes with Terri, taking cell phone pics of a sealed court order.

Why does Michael Cook believe that Terri Horman is innocent? Does he have an inside line on what may have happened to Kyron Horman? Cook appears to be an ordinary, nice guy, with no agenda to burn. What's up here?

Why did Cook turn on his old buddy, Kaine, and cavort with Terri? Maybe he thinks that Terri is innocent. Michael has a sympathetic position towards Terri, but why? Maybe it's because he is communicating with a real person, and not the Wicked Witch of the West, such as is the image of Terri projected by the media.
Apparently, the police have confiscated his cell phone, and have seen the inappropriate photos of Terri on there, as well as erotic texting exchanges, which we call sexting. So Cook has admitted to inappropriate behavior, but he denies having sex with Terri. And true, Cook did go over the line by Googling Kaine's secret address. He should have known better than this.
Yet when you see him on TV, he seems like a nice guy. He must have had good reason to side with Terri, to lend his sympathetic ear to a woe-begotten Moll besought by troubles galore, a world of hurt, a modern day witch burned at the stake in a public square of opinion, Salem, Massachusetts. Cook is going against the grain of common thought here. But why?
It must be because he believes in Terri's innocence. In saying this, we must admit that he doesn't side with Kaine and Desiree. With this in mind, does he have some insight into flaws in the estranged couple's position? Did he notice something afoul, something unsavory, upon showing up at a Portland Horman doorstep?
I suspect he did. And I don't buy the notion that Cook suddenly assumed a romantic passion for Terri. I prefer the idea that he merely took on a position of sympathy for Terri, when he observed how unfairly she was being treated by the police, the media and especially the biological parents. Michael Cook does not look like an rapscallion of a character when you see him talking into the news camera.
Rather he appears wholesome and above the fray. It's the public and the media who are irrational, who are the cruel vigilantes of injustice here. Cook can transcend this madness. And Terri's silence speaks volumes; she is listening to her attorney and keeping her mouth shut. The footage of Dan Tilkin stalking poor Terri was uncouth and unethical. Dan comes off as a paparazzi hassling Princess Diana. Poor Terri keeps a Gaga Poker Face though.

A still of Terri Horman when newsman, Dan Tilkin, tried to question her. Was Dan inappropriately stalking Terri? Does Terri not have a right to privacy? Is it ethical or is it harassment by media? Did the newsman cross the line here?

Let me play the devil's advocate for just a moment. Black is white, and day is night in such fancies. If Terri is utterly guilty of Kyron's abduction and possible elimination, then I would expect her to stay much lower to the ground. Maybe she is acting out in a public drama, by sending erotic pics to Cook that she knows will hit the public eye? In other words, this is reverse psychology in play. Terri is just giving the public what they expect.
Since the public already assumes that she is guilty, and sees her as the Wicked Witch of the West, why not just create a scene that shocks and flabbergasts the public to ecstatic extremes. Terri is the Bad News Disco Queen, the opposite of the Abba Dancing Queen. But consider for a moment, that if she were truly guilty, her behavior would more resemble a subdued and undercover characteristic, so as to not shine a bright spotlight of suspicion on her.
There's an element missing here. I'm not fully convinced that the police believe she did it. I don't think that Terri is capable of murder. True, she has some behavioral oddities. I would brand her as an exhibitionist, but I don't believe she has violence in her system. Terri is self-centered and is in need of attention, maybe even thrills.
Her behavior bespeaks just the opposite of the perpetrator. The perpetrator's not going to do anything to raise eyebrows, or do anything to cause the authorities to be suspicious. Terri's acting out oddly (like sending nude pics on a cell phone) rather reflects a person that is trapped. She's a condemned witch screaming in a pile of wood as the constable lights the twigs with scorching flame.

Kyron Horman latest news: Ribbons of Hope project for missing Oregon boy (video)

A group of local Portland, Oregon women have created a Ribbon of Hope project for missing 7-year-old Kyron Horman.

They are asking people around the world to write an inspirational message on a piece of ribbon that can be sent to them and attached to the Wall of Hope at Skyline School where the second-grader went missing over a month ago. The location, which is a chain link fence covered with balloons, notes, and stuffed animals for the missing boy, will hold the ribbons sent to the group.
To see more photos of Kyron, click here.
On June 4, Kyron’s stepmother, Terri Horman told police she last saw the boy walking to his classroom that morning after the two had attended a science fair at the school.

The women have created a Facebook page for those who are interested in participating in the movement.
Click here to access the Ribbons of Hope Facebook page.
Kyron was wearing a “CSI” t-shirt and black cargo pants when he vanished.

Anyone with information regarding Kyron Horman’s whereabouts is asked to call the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office tip line at 503-261-2847 or 911 with emergency information.

Kyron Horman Missing And Endangered: Landscaper Rudy Sanchez Knew Kyron

BREAKING NEWS

Portland, OR– The developments in missing Portland child Kyron Horman are enough to give a person whiplash this week; It is only Wednesday.

I absolutely believe that Terri Horman is responsible for Kyron’s disappearance-
Tony Young, stepfather to Kyron Horman.
During their interview this morning on the Today Show, Desiree and Tony Young did not mince words.

The sexual overtones to Mr.Cook, resemble the former exhanges between the individual Terri attempted to hire to murder her husband.– verbiage contempt motion
Are investigators any closer to finding Kyron Horman?
Sources inside the investigation have confirmed to blinkoncrime.com that both the FBI and Multnomah County Sherriff’s Office have been back on the scene in areas near the Skyline School, where Kyron wet missing on June 4th., and on Sauvie Island, the focus of intense search efforts including several dive teams today.
Of particular interest, is source confirmation that the landscaper Terri Horman hired last fall, who worked on the Horman property, had met Kyron at the residence as well as the Skyline School, where his firm had been contracted to do some work.

Rudy Sanchez, of RS Landscape Maintenance since 2008 has told MCSO that Terri Horman attempted to hire him in a murder for hire plot against her husband Kaine. Sanchez then agreed to participate in a surreptitious sting that included a body wire and a 911 call where patrolman had to be told by detectives this was an “on the job” non-threat. As fairly isolated areas go, this one has had a fair share of 911 calls.

No charges were filed by Ms. Horman against Mr. Sanchez.
A search for Multnomah County arrests under the last name Sanchez, show a United States Marshall arrest and hold of a Anselmo Sanchez since July 8th. It is unknown if this individual is held in the disappearance of Kyron Horman.

Blinkoncrime.com was unable to confirm through the Multnomah County Jail the nature of the “hold” for Sanchez, and all persons are presumed innocent.

Kyron: "Very Planned"

The transcripts are yet to be released but Desiree's statements are increasing in boldness and may suggest a growing frustration with police who have already provided "probable cause" to Kaine Horman, which he used in court, and who have not arrested Terri Horman yet. I expect more news to follow as frustration and impatience grows and more personal issues come to the surface. Here, Desiree goes directly to the issue of Kyron's disappearance. Also as time passes, expect both Desiree and Kaine to recall, with clarity that deep bitterness enables, more embarassing minor details of Terri's behavior, in particular, towards Kyron as the "red flags" continue to rise to the surface with each passing hour.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - The birth mother of an Oregon boy missing for over a month says in a TV interview she thinks the boy's stepmother carefully planned his disappearance.

The stepmother, Terri Horman, has not been named as a suspect in the disappearance of 7-year-old Kyron Horman.

But in a Tuesday interview with NBC's "Today" show, the birth mother - Desiree Young - reiterated her accusation that Terri Horman was involved. Young said she believes Kyron's disappearance was "very planned."

(Analysis as soon as transcripts are published)

Before he disappeared, Kyron lived with his stepmother and his birth father in Portland. Desiree Young lives in Medford.

The birth father, Kaine Horman, has also said he believes Terri Horman was involved in Kyron's disappearance.

Terri Moulton Horman's attorney asks for more time for her to move out, cites threats against his client

Maxine Bernstein, The Oregonian

Andrew Burton/The OregonianKyron Horman's stepmother Terri Horman and Kyron's father, Kaine Horman at a June 13 press conference.

Kaine Horman appeared with his lawyer this afternoon at Multnomah County Circuit Court , asking a judge to order his wife out of their home as soon as possible.

A judge set a full hearing for 3 p.m. tomorrow.

Stephen Houze represented Terri Moulton Horman, who did not appear.

Kaine's lawyer said her client would like to get back in his home and get Kiara, 20-months-old, "back where she belongs."

She cited the need to bring back some routine for Kiara, as well as safety concerns, noting that Kaine Horman is not sure who else Terri Horman shared his new address with. He needs to recode the electric gate outside their home, change locks, buy groceries and get back to work to support the family, his lawyer Laura Rackner said.

"He's the mother and father now,'' Rackner added.

"The child's best interest in this case is to be back home," Rackner told the court. "She's got a brother whose abruptly gone...Mr. Horman has to get the child back into a routine, get her adjusted."

Houze said his client has agreed to leave the home, and was working with attorneys to make sure Kiara and Kaine had the necessary possessions they needed.

"It is simply a matter of logistics," Houze said. "It is not a simple matter to pick up everything and simply be gone."

He also said Terri Horman has been the subject of threats. He said there's been "threats of harm routinely directed towards my client which I take very seriously."

He blamed the threats on what he called a "media frenzy...a witchhunt" directed at his client.

Houze also said he didn't understand why Kaine would put his new address in the restraining order petition, when he could have chosen not to do so. He said he wonders how serious Kaine Horman's safety concerns are, considering "they revealed to my client where he was staying."

"It is one of the upmost concerns of my client that her daughter be in a safe, well-cared for circumstance," Houze said.

"I suggest 96 hours, Monday afternoon."

Houze was accompanied by attorney Peter Bunch, who will be serving as Terri Horman's divorce lawyer.

Kaine Horman wore a gray sweatshirt, tan shorts and sneakers to court, with a Kyron Horman green band around his left wrist.

Earlier in the week, the judge had set two court dates – July 22 and Sept. 21 – to address Kaine Horman's pending motion, including his effort to hold his wife in contempt of court.

Kaine Horman's lawyer has asked the court to impose "remedial" sanctions against Terri Horman.

Kaine Horman left the house with their daughter on June 26 after investigators told him that Terri Horman had solicited her landscaper to kill him in an alleged murder-for-hire plot six to seven months before his 7-year-old son Kyron disappeared at a school science fair on June 4.

In court papers seeking a restraining order against his wife, Kaine Horman said he believes his wife is involved in the disappearance of his son.

Rackner argued in a motion filed Monday that Terri Horman shared the contents of a sealed restraining order – most notably her husband's new address – with a man whom Terri Horman had developed an intimate and sexual relationship with since her stepson Kyron's disappearance on June 4. The man, Michael Cook, was a high school friend of Kaine Horman.

Terri Horman has alerted the court she would not contest the restraining order, which prevents her from having any parenting time with her daughter Kiara, 20 months old.

Terri Horman, 40, has not been charged with any crime. The investigation into the boy's disappearance is ongoing.

Kaine Horman Interview

Kaine Horman Answers Questions From FOX 12

POSTED: 7:23 am PDT July 16, 2010
UPDATED: 7:26 am PDT July 16, 2010

The following is a correspondence between FOX 12 and Kaine Horman on July 15, 2010. The questions and answers have not been edited.

Statement Analysis is in bold type.

FOX 12: Kaine, we know that you are trying to fast track the process of Terri moving out of your house, can you explain why and what you want the judge to know about why it's important for you right now?

Kaine Horman: In all cases occupation of the house should have nothing to do with any adult - it should be about what's right for the two children involved: Kyron and Kiara.

He says it "should" unasked, which indicates that he believes it is related to Kyron. Notice "the" house; which is the norm for a married couple; and not for someone divorced. When someone is divorcing, they fight over "the house" but after the divorce, it is "my house" or "her house" but no longer "the" house.

We need the weekend, primarily all of Saturday, to walk through, secure the house, and make it usable (new locks on doors, re-code the electronic gate, replace items that Terri has taken, etc). The services for the locks and gate are not available on Sunday. Kiara will be moving into a more regular schedule that will include day care and I am returning back to work a little more starting next week. The use of Saturday at the house will be key. Having Kiara back at home for 2 full days will make the adjustment of life going forward much easier. If we wait until next week it will be more difficult to schedule and have things reviewed and secured right away and Kiara will have to adjust to being back home while also attending a new day care. I think it is a priority to limit the impact to her as much as we can.

Note the absence of Kyron here in the details (he was mentioned earlier). He has told us that Terri has "taken" which will need to be "replaced" ie, essential items. By telling us that he has a service for security and the gate, he is telling us that he is taking precautions against Terri, with regards to the alleged kill for hire plot. The issue of the first week versus the second week is linked to Kiara's adjustment to a new day care. As we view his list of priorities in the home, we see:
1. Walk through
2. Security
3. Make usuable (security items)
4. Recode gate
5. Replace items Terri took
6. Kiara's schedule.
7. His work

At this point, Kiara is mentioned 3 times; as repetition shows sensitivity. He needs to get the house secure (1-4) replace items that Terri took
(5) so that Kiara's schedule can be normalized and he will go back to work. The idea of security appears to be first in priority, but the 3 mentions of Kiara show why security may be a priority. Kiara's schedule is placed above his own work schedule, something parents frequently do when possible. She cannot have a normal schedule or life with first security, and then things that need to be replaced. But she continues to be the focus, even over employment, which is needed to provide for Kiara.

The big thing is to have the house ready for Kyron. If they find him tonight, any time tomorrow, or on the weekend (assuming Terri may stay in the house until Monday) then where will he go? Another place that is not his home - which I do not find acceptable. He needs to come home to HIS home, HIS room and not anywhere else. The fact that Terri's legal representation thinks she should stay until Monday leads me to believe they do not expect the truth from her this weekend.

This is very powerful, both sad, and angry. "The big thing" is Kyron. Actually, it is not. The wording here is not phrases that inspire confidence. A parent of a missing child would not care where the child stays because the parent would not be able to think beyond the reunion. Kaine's language shows more and more resignation that he doesn't believe Kyron is ever coming home; which explains why
"big" (additional word giving us additional info) is added due to sensitivity. It isn't the "big" thing, nor even the "thing". If it was, Kaine would have had it first and formost in his language. Kiara is first and foremost. This is sad.

Kaine's children are before him, which is his norm in past statements; but Kyron is "slipping" from the promise of coming home alive. We suspected that this would be evident in Kaine first, and in Desiree much later; even after, perhaps, bad news is delivered to her. This is awkward for Kaine (and it reads awkward). It is not natural for him.

That he believes Kyron isn't coming home is expected but what is more powerful is the anger he has at Terri and her attorney. Remember that repetition means sensitivity as we see the pronoun "his" related to Kyron repeated.

Kaine needs this house because it is Kyron's house, regardless of Terri or her attorney's delay tactics. She has violated Kyron's home and he wants her out. The stain of her is everywhere and it remains to be seen if he can stay at the home, but he wants her out.

By stating that he believes the attorneys do not expect the truth from her this weekend (she would be at jail) Kaine is acknowledging that she holds the "key" (notice the usage above) to Kyron's life and it is something that he needs to "lock" and recode the security on.

Do not expect Kaine to allow even supervised visitation with Kiara without a fight. I wonder if he would even defy a court order. He just may.

Having the house available and ready for our missing 7 year old son should far outweigh any adult need for the residence. It cannot be ready for him while she is still in it. When we left the house back in June I had 15 minutes to pack for Kiara and I for an unknown location and an unknown amount of time. We've been gone almost 3 weeks and while we don't have everything we could use (her high chair, nice clothes for court, etc), we have what we REALLY need. She's had a week to do the same - that should be enough. She will always be able to request property from the house and have it picked up in the future so there should be no need to delay further.

Kaine returns to care of Kiara but without skipping over that the stain in the home to be removed; the virus to be purged and locked out, is Terri. "it cannot be ready for him while she is still in it" is a powerful emotional argument that shows Kaine at the snapping point.

I think Kaine cares little for the death threat. He has not said much, nor leaked much. In fact, I think his references to security are weak; no detail, no emotional attachment, zip, nothing.

I think Terri is what is really on his mind: protecting Kiara from Terri. Protecting Kyron's room, Kyron's toys, KYRON'S HOME from Terri, and setting the security code so SHE cannot reenter the house. Kaine is about to lose it. I would not be surprised to see him turn on law enforcement should they NOT make an arrest soon. He is ready to blow.

Terri's attorney is doing her no favor asking for this delay. The public is angry and her refusal to answer questions has made it worse. If she seeks delay OR money, she will infuriate the public. Not smart. The public will be the potential jury pool. See Cindy Anthony.

FOX 12: Kaine, what are your feelings about what came out in the restraining order documents this week about Michael Cook's involvement with Terri? His friend tells us that she believes he was trying to play along with Terri's advances in hopes of getting information about Kyron. Do you think there's any truth to that?

Kaine Horman: I have only seen Michael Cook once since high school, which was during the week after Kyron when missing, so I cannot really comment on his intent based on my knowledge of him. I can say that I get briefed by law enforcement and lawyers once or many times per day. If he was really trying to accomplish what is claimed I think that law enforcement and lawyers would know about it and I would have been briefed about his interaction and intent. I have received no such briefing.
Kaine is an intelligent man. Cook has apparently attempted to cover his "sexting" with Terri by assigning noble causes; such as gaining information from Terri.

This sounds like Donna Brock, dealing drugs to get info from Misty Croslin; or
Cindy Anthony, lying to 911 to get them to hurry,
or Lee Anthony, conducting his own "investigation" or even...

Casey Anthony, half dressed, drunk, and dirty dancing her way to finding Caylee.

We've heard it before and Kaine isn't buying the nonsense. Compare Kaine to the "ugly coping" by Baez.

FOX 12: Desiree, Kaine and Tony -- all three of you are becoming more and more vocal about the fact that you think Terri is lying and that she's behind Kyron's disappearance. How do you think she might be reacting to that? Do you think it's pushing her to start cooperating with police?

Note error of compound questioning

Kaine Horman: I don't know that it is having much of an impact to her directly. Her actions continue to paint the picture of the person she has become. This continues to reinforce what I think all 3 of us have believed for some time: that she is involved and is the primary person responsible. Based on briefings we've had recently she is still not cooperating.

NOTE: Kaine said "much" of an impact and he used the word "directly" which implies that there may be some impact (not much, but some) upon Terri indirectly: which leads me to wonder:

Does Kaine know that some of Terri's family has been urging her to confess, or to come forward? It is an indication that this may have happened already.

FOX 12: You've all said recently that you think someone else besides Terri may have been involved in Kyron's disappearance. Do you have any theories about who that may be?

Kaine Horman: currently I do not although i do believe that it is someone that Kyron has met before, whether I know of the person or they were only a friend of Terri's

I continue to doubt this and have yet to see anything that firms it up. I believe that Desiree holds to it because it is the ONLY way Kyron could still be alive after 6 weeks. As in previous analysis, it does not appear that anyone in the family has strong belief that Terri worked with anyone. We will have to wait for more statements.

PORTLAND, Ore. --Terri Horman has moved out of the family home in Northwest Portland, according to a reliable source.
A car loaded with Terri Horman’s belongings zipped from the wooded drive just before 6 p.m. Friday evening. In the back seat were a small stack of boxes.
On Friday, Kaine Horman and his estranged wife came to an agreement for Terri to move out of the former family home in NW Portland by 3 p.m. Saturday, but a source tells KGW Teri Horman has already moved out and has returned to Roseburg, where she attended high school and where her parents still live.
As Terri's belongings were taken from the Horman home, Kyron's mother and father were visiting the 'wall of hope' at Skyline school.
They believe Kyron is alive, and they want his room filled with well wishes when he returns.
"We've come back several times to get bags full of cards and stuffed animals and all kinds of stuff," said Desiree Young.
"We want everyone to know that we've been coming up here quite regularly to pick things up and make sure they're going to get to Kyron when he comes home," said Kaine Horman.
With Terri Horman gone, Kaine said he intends to re-key the locks, change the gate code, and possibly replace certain doors and add additional locks.
Former Sheriff's Captain, Bruce McCain believes investigators will also take a very close look around searching for information about Kyron.
"It could be anything from cell phones, it could be notes, garbage cans. They'll be going through the trash," said McCain.
Terri, who was seen leaving her attorney's office Friday, has yet to comment on the case since becoming a focus of the investigation.
Though in the world of public opinion many consider her guilty, she remains uncharged and free to move wherever she wants.
"Out of town, out of state even because she's under no compulsion to stay in Oregon. She's not under arrest, she's not under probation, she's free to go wherever she wants," said McCain.
Kaine was told by police last month that Terri had tried to hire a man to kill him, according to a restraining order filed by Kaine. More: Murder-for-hire-plot
Kaine also recently filed papers to have Terri held in contempt of court and accused her of violating a sealed restraining order. That court motion also detailed an alleged sexual affair with one of Kaine's high school classmates, and a reported attempt to "abduct" the couple's young daughter Kiara.

Kaine Horman describes how Terri Moulton Horman 'vented' after flunking her polygraph

View full Michael Russell/The OregonianTerri Moulton Horman walks with her attorney, Stephen Houze, from Houze's offices in Southwest Portland Thursday.

Kaine Horman said Terri Moulton Horman came home from taking her first polygraph examination after Kyron's disappearance and "vented her failed results to all family, friends, and law enforcement at the house."

As the search for Kyron enters its sixth week, Kaine and Kyron's mother and stepfather, Desiree and Tony Young, invited The Oregonian and other media to submit written questions.

In his responses sent late Friday, Kaine Horman touches on the strife in his marriage, his belief that a third party was involved in his son's disappearance and how he is now coping with being a single father.

"Kiara and I have not discussed any of this yet," he wrote. "She can't quite talk just yet and would not be able to understand verbally what is happening yet. I am providing her with as much love, routine, and support that I possibly can."

Kaine Horman moved out of his family home June 26 with his 20-month-old daughter and has since gone to court to force Terri to leave. She has gone to Roseburg, where her family live.

The following are Kaine Horman's written responses:

Q. Kaine, did you know the landscaper who was involved in the alleged murder-for-hire plot? Did you ever meet him?

A: No, I did not know we had a landscaper and have never met him

Q: What are you reactions to this week's developments in court documents, which said Terri Horman had struck up a relationship with Kaine's high school friend, Michael Cook, and was sexting him days after you moved out and filed for divorce?

A: We will deal with the issue as part of the legal matters in front of us, it does not even approach the priority of finding Kyron so we will deal with it then. I have only seen Michael Cook recently since high school, which was during the week after Kyron when missing, so I cannot really comment on any relationship we had. We had just gotten reconnected and were trying to figure all that out.

I am not aware that Terri had met Michael prior to Kyron's disappearance.

Also Friday
Terri and Kaine Horman reach settlement; she moves out and leaves for Roseburg, where her parents live

Q: What were the "red flags" or warning signs that Desiree Young thought she may have missed prior to Kyron's disappearance? Desiree told the Today Show that Kyron seemed increasingly unhappy when he left their home after his visits with the Youngs. Kaine, did you see any warning signs and if so what?

A: Desiree's quote was not taken in its entirety. As a younger boy, Kyron can express distress when going from one household to the other if he has been having a great time and is looking forward to upcoming activities with that particular household. There was no abnormal amount of this happening after he left Desiree's household or when he left ours to go visit Desiree. He has been unhappy several times when he has had to leave our house to go visit Desiree, nothing Desiree or I would deem out of the ordinary.

Q: While you have said your marriage suffered after Kiara's birth and Terri's post-partum depression, was there any talk of separating or divorce before Kyron disappeared?

A: Yes there was but we worked through them in a positive manner (at least that was my impression.)

Q: Can you describe how Terri Horman handled the polygraph requests? I believe you have said to others that Terri walked out of a second polygraph, and then waited about 10 days before taking a third? Can you clarify this for us?

A: She fully cooperated and took the first polygraph then subsequently vented her failed results to all family, friends, and law enforcement at the house. A few days later she cooperated and went to take a second polygraph test but got up and walked out before the machine portion of the test could be administered... again by her own statement to family, friends, and law enforcement at the house ...She continually pushed back and refused to repeat the second test for several days (approx. 8-10) before going to take the test and then once again coming back to the house and venting to all listeners.

Q: Kaine, when are you planning to return to work?

A: The investigation is still our top priority, we drop anything, anytime, anywhere to do what is needed. In between those moments Desiree, Tony, and I have all been trying to get back to work to some degree. We will need to continue to be able to provide a home for Kyron when he returns so working even part time will be essential...Because of both cases (criminal and divorce) and becoming a single parent I have not had much time to work but I have been getting some hours in each week for the past few weeks working remotely.

Q: How is Kiara doing? What have you told Kiara about why she can't see her mom? Have Terri's parents seen Kiara or will they be able to and if so under what circumstances?

A: Kiara is doing as well as can be expected given the circumstance. Kiara and I have not discussed any of this yet, she can't quite talk just yet and would not be able to understand verbally what is happening yet. I am providing her with as much love, routine, and support that I possibly can.

Q:Kaine, how is the rest of your family handling the situation?

A: Not going to comment on behalf of others and how they feel.

Q: What is your reaction to Terri's attorney's characterization of the "witchhunt" aimed at his client?

A: I think Terri's past (since Kyron went missing) and continued actions are fanning the flames. All we have asked for is the truth. Until she comes forward with that truth and Kyron is found then I doubt that things will turn down in intensity.

Q: You have said in the past that you believe someone else may have been involved , aside from Terri, in Kyron's disappearance? What leads you to believe this and do you still hold those feelings?

A: I can't comment as to all of the reasons why based on the investigation but based upon briefings I firmly believe that someone else is involved.

Q: Do you expect to open your home, once you're back in it, for a more thorough search of it by law enforcement? Do you know if they've combed through the house carefully, with a dog?

A: We have fully cooperated with law enforcement since Day One in any and all searches of the house they have requested. They have done several thorough searches and I will continue to provide them full access to the house as they need it.

Please Let Us Find Kyron……..It’s Time To Focus On Him

God Bless Kyron

Like many I’ve followed this case from the beginning, hoping and praying for Kyron’s safe return. From the very beginning many focused on Terri Horman, Kyron’s stepmother, as it has been repeatedly said she was the last person to see him. Unfortunately that is a confusing point, because we were told in the very beginning that the last time Kyron was seen was at 9 am by someone else, just 15 minutes after Terri claimed to have left Kyron walking toward his classroom. This case has been a tough one to follow. Where could Kyron be? Who last saw him?? Did he leave the school with Terri? With someone else? I really believe the public wants to help find Kyron. I really believe everyone is looking at the faces around them hoping to see his face, and I really believe that if he’s alive someone will, at least that is my hope. Is he alive? It’s not likely statistically speaking, but law enforcement has repeatedly said that it is still a very strong possibility. I think everyone needs to be looking for Kyron everywhere.
I know I’ve fussed about the sensationalism in this case many times, but I believe that it keeps the focus of the public in the wrong direction. I believe that it keeps the public looking through tunnel vision at where Kyron could be. It keeps everyone looking at Terri, but we have to remember that even if Terri did something to Kyron, she won’t tell you. Did Casey reveal Caylee’s whereabouts? Even in jail??? The public scrutiny did not break Casey Anthony. It did not break Misty Croslin, and this is just to name a few. The public was determined to continue the search for Caylee and her remains were found, because 1 private citizen thought to look close to her home, and when he thought he saw her remains months before, he called law enforcement. When the officer dropped the ball, he did too for a time (but he did call 3 days in a row with no results when he initially thought he saw her), but one more time he was in the area and something told him to look, and there was Caylee’s earthly remains. Haleigh Cummings has not been found, and she may not be, but I do believe the person or persons responsible are right where they need to be, behind bars, for crimes they went on to commit, because criminals continue to be criminals. Truly criminal people are only empowered when they think they have gotten away with something, so sadly they will commit more crimes. Both cases should have taught us some things, one being never to give up the search and you cannot use public scrutiny to break a person, it won’t happen, if they are truly criminally minded. Jaycee Dugard’s case taught us that they can be missing for many years and still be alive. She gave us hope. The cops had it all wrong in her case, as the focus on the investigation for many years was her stepfather, and it ripped a family apart, but she was stranger abducted, and the guy that held her captive was right under their noses, and even under State Supervision, as he was on parole. Jaycee was missing 18 years before she was found and had born two children by her abductor.
Again, as I’ve said before, it’s not that I don’t think Terri’s behavior is bizarre, or that she may know something, or may be involved just that I know that sometimes the cops and the public can have it all wrong. I don’t want to be guilty of that. I do appreciate the fact that law enforcement has been re-interviewing witnesses at the school and asking the media for video footage from the early days that Kyron went missing, they have been re-searching areas they had already searched, and they are following up on tips. They are looking for something, anything they missed. That is AWESOME! They really need to do that. What can the public do? Keep circulating Kyron’s pictures, keep his face out there. Keep being aware of the faces around you. Anyone that was at Skyline Elementary School that day, and happened to notice anything or anyone out of the ordinary needs to speak with law enforcement, even if the person feels it may be insignificant. Did anyone see a vehicle that didn’t belong in the parking lot that day, one never seen at the school before? Did anyone see a vehicle coming out of the school that day driving recklessly? Too fast? Does anyone remember seeing Terri drive away, or walking out of the school? Did anyone see Kyron talk to a stranger? Anything, anything at all that was odd, needs to be reported, and I don’t care who it involves. My concern is Kyron, period.
I’m not interested in the sensationalistic side of this case, the family’s dirty laundry. I’ve shown you before that there has been a lot of discrepancies in things said in the media. I’ve shown where people have contradicted statements they have made before and my point was not to impeach anyone, but to show that there has been so much gossip in this case and so many rumors, that it’s hard to sort fact from fiction. I know at times I’ve been a bit rough on the other family members, but I did so showing you things that did not add up and to show you how many “IF’s” there could be. There is nothing more obvious than the fact that the family dynamics were not the greatest leading up to his disappearance. Kyron is the victim in all of this, and while I concede that everyone in his life that loves him and did him no harm is being victimized as well, there is still no one that has been victimized like Kyron has. I want the TRUTH, I want KYRON FOUND. Have you seen him?

Unusual Events & The Nature Of The Disappearance Keep The Spotlight
I want Kyron found. Let’s keep looking for him and for answers, and forget about tabloid news. There will be time enough for all of the other stuff later. Let’s let law enforcement focus on the who’s and the why’s and let the public focus on bringing valuable information to them to make the determinations they need to make, come what may. Let’s keep his face circulating through the public all over this country and beyond. Terri is already being watched and will continue to be, let us keep searching, and for those that were at the school that day or in the vicinity, keep remembering, and report what you know, if you feel you know something. I don’t want to only focus on what Terri has or has not done, or what she has or has not said, but I want to focus on anything relevant to finding Kyron, and I don’t think we have all of the answers in Terri, and if it turns out she does hold all of the answers, if someone, anyone finds Kyron, law enforcement will put together the how’s and the why’s.
Stepping off my soap box now.
What do you think?

Kyron Horman case: The pickup

Posted on July 19th, 2010 by Valhall
In a Q&A session Friday night, Kaine Horman, father of missing 7-year old Kyron, was asked the following questions:

Kaine, why did you and Terri switch cars the day Kyron disappeared? Did you typically drive the white truck, and Terri the red mustang? Did she request to have the truck that day?
Kaine’s answer was…

I typically drive the truck and Terri drives the car. She wanted to use the truck to bring Kyron’s science fair project home, easier done with the truck than the car, although she did not stay for the duration of the science fair – per her statements that the media has reported.
It has already been discussed extensively that the red mustang was Terri’s car and that, for some reason, on June 4th she drove the white F250 Ford truck instead. It has also been discussed that it appeared the science fair project was already set up on Friday morning when Skyline Elementary opened its doors early to students and family to allow them to tour the science fair projects. In Kaine’s response above please note that he did not state she used the pickup that day to TAKE the project to school, but to bring it home.
Now, this begs the question that if Terri and Kaine discussed her using the pickup for the explicitly stated reason of picking up the science fair project, then why did she do things in a way that made no sense, and showed she did not start the day intending to pickup the project?
The first curious thing to point out in this discussion is that Kaine states “…although she did not stay for the duration of the science fair – per her statements that the media has reported.” This statement reads as though Kaine has received this information as different than he believed the day would go. Had Terri led Kaine to believe she was going to the science fair and staying until it was over at which time she would take the project with her? This would actually make the most sense, since in the photos we have seen of Kyron and his project at the school, the projects appeared to be set up in classrooms on students’ desks. In order to continue the regular school day classes after the fair was over, these projects would have to be moved off the classroom desks in order to allow the children access during their classes.
But Terri didn’t do that. She drove to the school with the pickup and then left the school without the project – and didn’t even stay until the fair was over. Now, you might say, she intended to pick the project up after school. There three things that don’t make sense if that was her intention:
1. It has been reported (but remains unconfirmed as far as I know) that Terri sent an email to Ms. Porter in the afternoon asking her when the science fair projects could be picked up. This email has never made sense to me. First, Terri was just there that morning. We know that teachers were present at the school while Terri was at the school. Why did Terri, if she knew she couldn’t stay until the end of the fair, not ask a teacher at what point the projects could be picked up? Second, why did the question need to be asked at all? An email wasn’t needed…period. Would it not make sense to plan to pick Kyron AND the project up at the end of the school day instead of having him ride home on the bus, load him up, and then return to the school to get the project?
2. Kaine only worked a half day at the office. Why did Terri feel she needed to swap vehicles to get the project home if she knew she wasn’t going to pick the project up before the end of the school day? Kaine was going to be home by that time and the pickup would be back at the residence. The only logical and benign reason for swapping vehicles in the morning would be if Terri didn’t know Kaine planned to work at home that afternoon. Did Kaine decide after he got to work that he would work the last half of the day at home? I actually believe the answer is no. And the reason I feel this way is because of the plans he made with Kyron to go get ice cream after Kyron’s school day was over. Taking into account that Kyron was going to be leaving later in the evening to travel with Desiree back to Medford, it makes no sense that Kaine would be discussing going for ice cream at 5:30 or 6 o’clock at night. It makes much more sense that Kaine intended, when he made the statement to Kyron that morning, to be at home when Kyron arrived there from school so they could go for ice cream shortly afterward and earlier in the day. In fact, I would venture to guess that when Kaine got home at 2 p.m. he most likely assumed that Terri had already brought the project home. And most likely, he didn’t even clarify whether she had or not, just assuming she had because that was the entire reason for her taking the pickup…or so Kaine believed.
3. And then lastly, why didn’t Terri plan to the do the logical thing and pick the project up at the end of the school day? The email to Ms. Porter (if it actually was sent) shows that this was not her intention, and it boggles my mind that it wouldn’t be.
Since we know that the science fair project was not brought home that day (prior to the end of school) the question becomes…why did Terri want the pickup and could this give insight into what happened to Kyron? There are a number of reasons I can think of for needing a pickup versus a small two-door car.
1. Large tools – shovel, container???, etc. Did Terri need the pickup to transport things she would need to dispose of Kyron? Did she need it to transport something in the bed that would not look suspicious in the bed of a truck, but would if seen in a car? I can think of several things that would fall into this category.
2. Off road access – did Terri leave that morning knowing that she was going to be driving to a remote location the Mustang wasn’t suited to reach? A rough, rocky mountainous dirt road? A swampy, muddy shoreline area? Keep in mind it had rained almost every day for a week and rained on June 4th. The ground would have been moist to downright muddy depending on what type of location she planned to access.
3. Easy access to cab interior – unlike the Mustang, which is a cramped two-door car, the F250 Ford truck the Horman’s own is a crew cab with four doors, did Terri plan ahead to make sure access and/or retrieval from the cab would be as simple as possible? If there is validity to “Chas’s” account of seeing Terri Horman pull out on Hwy 30 headed south, I note that he saw a red-headed woman driving the truck, but he did not see any children. If the children (assuming Kiara was also with them) were in the backseat, he most likely would not have seen them due to the heavy tinting on the back door windows of the truck.
I believe Terri led Kaine to think that she was going to the science fair with Kyron and when the fair was over she was going to bring his project home – therefore she needed the truck. And I am beginning to believe that we are seeing enough information to start believing the yet unconfirmed account that Ms. Porter claims Terri told her, that morning, “in a crowded auditorium”, that Kyron had a doctor’s appointment and they were going to have to leave before the fair was over. I am also beginning to believe that Terri and Kyron (and Kiara??? still unknown) left the school quickly.
I offer the following scenario in how Kyron could have been taken from the school, by Terri, without being seen together. On the way to the science fair Terri stated, for the first time, to Kyron that he had a doctor’s appointment that morning and that they weren’t going to be able to stay at the fair/school very long. At approximately 8:45 (prior to 9:00 a.m. when the classes began touring the fair) Terri told Kyron to go on out to the truck and she was going to take care of telling Ms. Porter that he was going to the doctor. Kyron went on out to the pickup and got in the backseat where he would normally ride. If Terri had not already told Ms. Porter of the doctor’s appointment, she did so at this time. But irrespective of what Terri did next, she intentionally lingered in the school long enough to ensure that if she was seen leaving, she was seen leaving alone.
Now, the only hiccup to this scenario is that Mr. Matt Shelby has stated that two teachers believe they saw Terri and Kyron leaving the school that morning together. If this is true, then the scenario would be that after spending a brief time at the fair (and getting the requisite pictures), Terri found Ms. Porter in the auditorium/gym, told her of the doctor’s appointment, and then she and Kyron quickly left.
Whatever the true events are on how Terri handled exiting the school that morning with Kyron, the facts are beginning to show that she left the Horman residence that morning in a vehicle that would serve her plans for the day. And those plans do not appear to have included bringing Kyron’s science project home.

PORTLAND, Ore. - Six weeks have now gone by since a young boy mysteriously disappeared from outside Skyline School and his parents want to thank all those who have been sending positive thoughts their way.

Kaine Horman and Desiree Young sent the following statement through their media liaison:

"Kaine and Desiree's main priority remains keeping their energy and available time focused on assisting investigators in the search for Kyron. Kaine and Kiara have returned home (and) are getting settled back into the house. Kaine is spending time getting the house ready so that Kyron has a comfortable and safe home to return to. The family sends their deepest gratitude for your support and thanks everyone who is keeping an eye out for Kyron."

Meanwhile, at the 'Wall of Hope' at Skyline School, Kyron's supporters continue to leave words of encouragement for the family and messages for Kyron.

"He's out there and it's just one day closer to him coming home," one visitor to the wall told KATU News.

Over the weekend, Kyron's stepmother, Terri Horman, moved out of the family's home and is now taking refuge with her parents in her hometown of Roseburg. After Terri left, Kaine moved back into the home with the couple's 20-month-old daughter and had the locks changed
